Melbourne Museum

 

 

Melbourne Museum is a storehouse of ideas, promoting public debate on issues relating to the natural environment, new technology, and other changes occurring in our society. People outside Melbourne will increasingly have electronic access to the Museum's superb collections, research, exhibitions and educational packages.

The Museum has excellent education and catering facilities, a state of the art storage facility for the Museum's collections, a range of performance spaces and a study centre called InfoZone to provide information access for the public. The Museum exhibition program has been launched in stages and is now complete.

There are more than 20 different exhibitions in the galleries including: three exhibitions in Bunjilaka the Aboriginal Centre, three exhibitions in the Australia Gallery including a new Phar Lap exhibition, Te Vainui o Pasifika in the beautiful Te Pasifika Gallery, Forest Secrets in the living Forest Gallery, 1, 2, 3 Grow, a special exhibition for 3-8 year olds in the Children's Museum Big Box, three exhibitions in the Science and Life gallery; Southern Diversity, Science Arcade and @digital.au four exhibitions in the newly opened Mind and Body gallery; Body Parts, Bodyscape, Biotech and Beyond and Medical Melbourne The Evolution gallery has 2 exhibitions, one about dinosaurs and the other a closer look at evolution from a historical and genetic viewpoint.
